Short v Flap

When I first began knitting socks, I knit them with a flap because that is how I was shown. One day I decided to try short row heels and I really really liked it. I liked the process and also the look of short row heels. For this last pair of Woolly Boully Beneath the Cherry Tree socks, I decided to try the flap again. One sock is completed with the flat and the other with short row heel. With the help of sock guru, Zina from my Noble Knitters group, I once again *did* the flap. I have pretty much decided short row is best for me.

The question I would like to pose to all is, in your opinion, do you like the looks of short row heels or heel flaps best? Any feedback would be great appreciated. I'm real curious about this..
Spring is in the air here in GA. These sweet daffodils showing their faces are a sure sign in my backyard... low 70's here today and hopefully tomorrow too!
.
Have a great weekend and hopefully it involves lots of knitting, crocheting or playing outside... Drop me a comment about short v flap.

Well, I have to say I am a heel flap kind of gal. I like cuff down too. And although I have knit several pair of socks on circs and magic loop, I still prefer dpns. I love the look of a short row heel, esp with striping yarn, but I much prefer the feel of the heel flap when I wear the socks, and that is more important to me. I know that is way more than you asked.
32 has been the high here today. And I think we are supposed to get more ice this weekend.

I prefer a heel flap Like Monica, I like the way the heel flap feels versus the short row heel. I just learn the magic loop and I can see where it may be great for some but I too prefer dpns. So I'll stick to dpns and heel flaps and cuff down for now.

So far I like the heel flap because I just can't seem to figure out the short row heel. I keep making them with too many holes or they end up too tight. But I do like the technique so maybe when I get the hang of it, I'll be short row heels all the way. :)
